Live in Adventure

Merriam-Webster defines adventure as “an exciting or remarkable experience.” Exciting. Remarkable. And isn’t that what we want our life to be?

What is exciting for you? And, perhaps more importantly, what is remarkable? Memorable? Impactful? 

Adventure is different for everyone. Perhaps you crave the adrenaline rush of skydiving, the challenge of exploring a foreign land, or the exhilaration of zip lining through a canopy of trees. Maybe your adventure comes from walking a new path, trying a new-to-you food, or wearing the outfit. There’s no right or wrong answer to what it means to be adventurous, but we think we can all agree that living with a little adventure in our lives leads to more smiles, an expanded perspective, richer memories, and a sense of accomplishment. 

We all deserve to live a life that we find exciting or remarkable. 

But, too often, we fall into autopilot. We get up and start our day the same each and every day. We go through the motions, do the work, run our errands, do the laundry, cook the meals, and watch the same tv shows. We end our day with the plan to do it all over again the next day. It’s a real-life groundhog day.

And though consistency and knowing what’s to come is often the easier path, it is not always the best path. The one that leads to the most fulfillment. The one that challenges us and teaches us. The one that helps us grow into the fullest expression of the person we were meant to be.

This month, we’re going to live in an adventure mindset. One that seeks out what’s possible. To remain curious, try lots of things, and maybe even take some risks. To take the trip and see something different.
